This past December, Fremont Contract Carriers was once again able to honor veterans as they participated in the national Wreaths Across America program.

Millions of Americans come together every year to remember the fallen and honor those that serve, and their families. Wreath-laying ceremonies are coordinated by the Wreaths Across America organization, and occur at more than 2,100 locations across the United States (in local and national cemeteries in all 50 states), as well as at sea and abroad.

Every year a new theme is chosen to help supporters focus messaging and outreach in their own communities; the national theme for 2019 was “Everyone plays a part”.

“The inspiration for this year’s theme was a recommendation made by ten-year-old “Mighty” Miles Worcester, the grandson of the founders of Wreaths Across America. Last May, while in Washington D.C. for an event, Miles saw a U.S. Service member in uniform at the hotel where he was staying. As he always does, Miles walked up to the gentleman, reached out to shake his hand and thanked him for his service. And his response was simple and impactful: “Thank you…everyone plays a part.” Miles went directly to his grandmother, WAA Executive Director Karen Worcester, to tell her that he believed this statement would be the perfect theme because, as he said, “those serving in the military are doing their part, but it is our part as Americans to remember and honor them, and that’s what Wreaths Across America does.”

Wreaths Across America, January 10, 2019 Press Release

FCC is extremely proud to support the mission of Wreaths Across America, and 2019 marks the 6th year we have participated in the National Wreaths Across America program. We feel that it is vitally important to honor those fallen veterans – our nation’s heroes – and to remember the sacrifices they made for our country, and we are honored to have the opportunity to continue sponsoring and transporting “Remembrance Loads” for the program.
