  5. Speaking of the moon, if you added the annual distance covered by every truck in the United States (average 115,000 per driver), it would equal 300 billion miles or 651,000 trips around the moon. 
  6. Trucks need about 3 football fields of room to come to a complete stop if they are going highway speeds.
  7. Approximately 1 out of every 14 jobs in the U.S. is created or directly affected by the trucking industry.
  8. 90% of the food Americans eat is hauled by refrigerated trucks. 
  9. Over-the-road trucks are designed to travel over 1 million miles before being retired. 
  10. 10% of truck drivers are women, but only 4% of diesel technicians are women.
