The Operations Floater will be the primary substitute for absent employees in the Operation’s Department. The position will cross train in driver management and customer service duties for the van, flatbed and regional divisions.

The primary responsibilities of the position will include the coordination and administration of operational duties (customer service, dispatch, driver management, etc.) to assist the Operations Department in the daily workload. The position requires the associate to perform multiple tasks while managing a constant change in responsibilities based on the needs of the operations department on any given day without causing an interruption in service to our customers or drivers.


Position Summary:

The Driver Recruiter is responsible for introducing driving opportunities to prospective qualified company drivers, owner operators, experienced fleet owners, and potential lease purchase drivers. Through the process of evaluating driver applications, conducting telephone and face to face interviews, this position will have the responsibility of keeping our company trucks filled as well as growing the independent contractor fleet.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains proper communication and cooperation with appropriate parties in the department on any customer issues and/or driver
  • Plan and communicate load assignments using various tools, (telephone and Qualcomm communication).
  • Monitor mobile communication transmissions on a constant basis and respond to those that require feedback within establish guidelines.
  • Monitor ETA/OOR and notify customers on all late loads or missed
  • Follow establish procedures on all safety and service related
  • Monitor drivers overall level of production, ensuring it meets established company
  • Monitor drivers’ compliance with established policy on truck service intervals, quarterly
  • Monitor service sensitive loads/trucks as indicated by Customer Service
  • Efficiently manage driver dwell time and deadhead in assigned
  • Manage customer relationships through daily contact and freight management to provide service that meets and exceeds customer
  • Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner

    • Demonstrates a basic knowledge of S. geography and the calculation of transit times across multiple U.S. time zones.

Education and/or Experience:

  • College Degree preferred
  • Two (2) years of demonstrated driver recruiting experience required.
  • Previous transportation experience preferred
  • Previous customer service oriented experience preferred Interested candidates.
