Driver Appreciation Week - Thank you!

Today marks the beginning of driver appreciation week. Truck drivers all work so hard to make sure our country continues to run smoothly on a daily basis. Even through this pandemic, through all the inconveniences, drivers have been working hard to make sure everyone has the essential food and supplies they need. Let’s celebrate all the drivers in the United States this week with our five reasons we love our drivers!

1. They keep our country moving

Did you know that it is estimated that most grocery stores would run out of food within three days without truck drivers? Drivers are the reason our grocery stores are always stocked, our packages arrive at our front door, and we can easily survive. Without drivers we wouldn’t have coffee at our favorite coffee shops, we wouldn’t have fuel for our cars, we wouldn’t have what we need to do that DIY project. Drivers keep the economy moving!

2. They work hard

Drivers are some of the hardest workers out there! They often drive up to 11 hours a day and probably would drive more if there wasn’t a law against it. They are always working, even when they aren’t driving. They could be planning out the rest of their route, getting their truck repaired, filling out paperwork, or even trying to find their next load. Drivers spend a lot of time on the road and away from their families, which isn’t easy.

3. They make sacrifices

Drivers are continually making sacrifices as their lifestyle can often cause health issues and be hard on their relationships. Drivers miss out on time with their spouses and children while they are on the road and can miss important milestones. They sacrifice their time to help new drivers learn the ropes and even act as first responders for accidents they see on the road. Drivers help change tires and give directions. They make daily sacrifices.

4. They are committed

Drivers are committed to their jobs. It takes a lot of time to acquire the skills they need to handle their trucks. They work hard to do their job well and are constantly having to learn something new to do their job safely and well.

5. They have a strong sense of responsibility

There aren’t many jobs where if you have a moment of distraction, things could get dangerous, but it is a daily reality for drivers. Drivers are vigilant when it comes to the safety of not only themselves but others around them. They know every law they need to follow and follow each one carefully because they know just how dangerous it could be if they don’t. Thank you for your responsibility.

6. They put themselves at risk

Especially now more than ever, drivers are putting themselves at risk on a daily basis to continue to keep our nation running. They put their health on the line each and every day to make sure we are able to continue to live comfortably.

Closing

If you know a driver, be sure to tell them that you love and appreciate them this week. Get them something special and show them how much you care. Here at FCC, we do our best to show our drivers how much we appreciate them each and every day. Make sure to thank a driver for all they do for us!!!
